BOABYTE
Edition 1 - May 2005
Welcome to the first edition of BOABYTE, the official Boab Systems e-newsletter.
BOABYTE aims to keep you up to date with all the goings-on of the organization. It’s hoped that BOABYTE will provide useful information regarding our programs, as well as interesting bits and pieces.
Principal Consultant Stephen West and Business Manager Tim Hall travelled to Las Vegas in March to attend the ConExpo.
The expo is regarded as the world’s largest international gathering for those in the construction and construction materials industries.
The trip allowed the Boab Systems’ software to be showcased to a large-scale audience.
What our Clients say:
“We installed HELPA in February 2005. We started slowly to familiarise ourselves with the new system and it was comforting to know that when we were really stuck the Help Desk was only a click away with live support and remote access. All our reports are now issued through HELPA. The system is straightforward and the online support excellent. We couldn’t be happier with how the system has improved our business.” - Wide Bay Geotechnical Services.
Personal Data Assistant
The Boab team is currently perfecting the Personal Data Assistant (PDA) software.
This software will enable you to collect data in the field (for selected modules) and upload the information directly into HELPA.
Such a process will eliminate the need for hand-written field sheets and manual data entry.

ConExpo 2005
Our exposure was very positive and from this year’s ConExpo, Stephen and Tim have established many connections into the overseas, particularly the US, market.
For more information about the expo, please visit their website: www.conexpoconagg.com.
May Upgrade
The MAY upgrade for HELPA has been completed and is due for release from Friday 20 May 2005.
Through consultation with our clients, the Boab team have resolved the issues needing rectification, and also modified the program to improve functionality.
Some of the issues included ensuring the Nuclear-bias Validation Graphs were of the correct type, and eliminating the date error when past balance calibrations were loaded.
Two new features in the HELPA program are the simplification of the reporting process and the client database now being accessed through the project register.
Special Points of Interest:
- Concrete Testing and Analysis is now available under the HELPA program, eliminating the need for two programs.
- The website is nearing completion. Clients will soon be able to download upgrades and add-ons directly from their website account.
